Policy Studies - Assistant Professor, tenure-track, or Associate Professor,<br>tenured (one full-time position). The Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences<br>Program (IAS) at the University of Washington Bothell (UWB) seeks candidates
<br>working in policy studies, public policy, public administration, public<br>affairs or a closely related field and with substantial success as a<br>scholar,<br>teacher, and institution- and curriculum-builder in those areas. The
<br>successful candidate will have a proven record of teaching and research in<br>one or more courses of the Master of Arts in Policy Studies (MAPS) core<br>curriculum (see web site: <a href="http://www.uwb.edu/IAS/maps/">
http://www.uwb.edu/IAS/maps/</a>) and a substantive<br>MAPS policy area such as organizations and leadership, urban policy,<br>state/local governments, non-governmental organizations, or law. In<br>addition,<br>this candidate will be knowledgeable in both regional and global dimensions
<br>of contemporary policy studies in private, public, and non-profit contexts.<br>This person will participate in graduate student advising and the<br>supervision<br>of MAPS capstone projects and will be expected to work closely with regional
<br>academic and organizational partners. Two-years teaching experience and PhD<br>required. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.<br><br>IAS houses undergraduate and graduate programs, is part of a growing campus
<br>located 18 miles from Seattle on the eastside of Lake Washington, and has<br>access to the research and funding resources of the three UW campuses. IAS<br>is developing new undergraduate majors and options and is scheduled to
<br>launch<br>a community-based Master of Arts in Cultural Studies in 2008 to complement<br>its existing Master of Arts in Policy Studies. MAPS has a core curriculum<br>distinguished by integration of in-class seminars with applied projects and
<br>fieldwork while educating students as problem-solvers in global and local<br>contexts. The successful candidate will hold an appointment in IAS and be<br>one of the core members in the MAPS program, developing its distinctive
