The Johnson Institute for Responsible Leadership at the Graduate School 
of Public and International Affairs, University of Pittsburgh is 
accepting submissions for the *2006-2007 Johnson Award for Best Papers 
in Ethics and Accountability in Public Service*.

*A blind review process will result in the selection of at least one (1) 
winner in each of the following categories:*

    * *Papers already published or accepted for publication in refereed
      forums (in journals, as chapters in books, etc) -- **the papers 
      not more than two years old: $2,000*
    * *Work in Progress (not accepted for publication at the time of
      submission): $1,500*
    * *Student Papers (including work by doctoral students prior to the
      award of the degree): $1,000*

*Themes:  *

Papers should fall under one of the following themes: International and 
Civil Security, Human Security, International Development, Public 
Management and Policy, and/or Nonprofit/NGO Management and Policy. These 
themes are broadly interpreted. Generally, any paper that has 
significant implications for public policy, public management, or 
nonprofit sector management will be acceptable.

Interested applicants should submit 1) an application cover sheet

summary including title of the paper with author name(s) removed, and 3)

The association invites paper, panel and roundtable submissions from 
scholars, public policy practitioners, and governmental and 
not-for-profit administrators.

 

Anyone whose research or policy interests relate to the fields below 
should send a short abstract and proposal form to the section chair by 
December 12,

 

2006.

 

NYSPSA encourages submissions from other disciplines, multidisciplinary 
panels and presentations of works in progress, particularly from 
graduate students.

 

Only one paper submission will be accepted from each scholar, although paper

 

presenters may also serve as discussants and chairs of other panels. The 
program committee would also like to encourage the submission of 
undergraduate student panel proposals. Prospective participants who are 
uncertain about their paper's placement may communicate directly with 
the program chair.

 

Submissions should include the title of their paper, a short abstract, 
the author's name, discipline and position, mailing address, 
institutional affiliation, phone/fax numbers, and e-mail address.

 

Individuals interested in acting as panel chairs/discussants should also

The Politics Department and the Canadian Studies Program at Trent 
University, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada (www.trentu.ca 
<http://www.trentu.ca/>) invite applications for a tenure-track position 
at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the field of Canadian 
Politics, effective July 1, 2007 (subject to budgetary approval). The 
successful candidate will be cross-appointed between the Politics 
Department (.7) and the Canadian Studies Program (.3). Applications are 
welcome in any subfield of Canadian politics, although applications in 
the field of political economy would be particularly welcome. An 
openness to interdisciplinarity would be an asset. Applicants must have 
a Ph.D. in hand or near completion and must demonstrate promise of 
research achievement. The successful candidate will contribute to the 
teaching of the undergraduate program in Politics and Canadian Studies 
and may contribute to graduate teaching and supervision in the 
interdisciplinary M.A. and Ph.D. programs in Canadian Studies, offered 
through the Frost Centre.
