[Interpretationandmethods] using interview transcripts effectively

Dear Patrick,
Thanks for your suggestions. They prompted me to read some of Dvora and Peri's book which I bought at APSA 07 in Chicago after meeting them; and the other work looked compelling on Amazon: I may order it.
Do you have any particular suggestions on how to organize interviews. What is your own topic of research and methodology?
    Bob

I'd start with the excellent little manual Writing Ethnographic Fieldnotes, by Emersen, Fretz and Shaw (U Chicago 1995). Then, of course, Dvora and Peri's book Interpretation and Method (ME Sharpe, 2006).

    Dear colleagues:
Once we have completed interviews, how do we most effectively analyze them? I have a thick batch of interviews from Liberia but in my draft articles so far feel I have only scratched the surface in 'mining' those for their full content. Any suggestions on how one (1) sorts through interviews; (2) takes notes on them; (3) organizes those notes.
Also - just in case: I need a crisp, student-friendly account of the protests in Latin American that have seen several Presidents in recent years overthrown, as part of a new course on Politics and Protests starting in January. I'm already behind on book orders.
        Cheers,
