[Interpretationandmethods] RE: Interpretationandmethods Digest, Vol 35, Issue 2

I actually don't think that there's much of a problem in podcasting a
conversation -- it's no more technically challenging than podcasting
any other piece of audio. Indeed, some of the best podcasts around are
long conversational interviews. All that's required is a good
microphone and a computer (or iPod, or other digital recorder) to plug
it into.

As for how people listen: the usual way is on an iPod or other
portable digital music player. If you download iTunes -- free from
Apple's website, www.apple.com/itunes, works with Mac or Windows --
you can see the podcast options it already has standard. Most people I
know, myself included, who regularly listen to podcasts download them
via iTunes and then sync them onto an iPod for playback.

That being said, I wonder if those cafe conversations aren't perhaps
too idiosyncratic (in a "you had to be there" kind of way) to work
well as podcasts. That all depends on how broad the issues that are
discussed are, I suppose -- how applicable the advice might be to
other scholars working on other projects.
