The international research training group "World Society -- Making and 
Representing the Global" at Bielefeld University invites applications for

*9 PhD Scholarships*

starting October 2007. The graduate research network is closely 
connected with Bielefeld Institute for World Society Studies. The study 
program of the graduate school is integrated into the Ph.D.-Program of 
the Internationale Graduate School in Sociology (IGSS) at the Faculty of 
Sociology at Bielefeld University.

Participating disciplines are sociology, social anthropology, political 
science and social history; applicants from neighboring disciplines are 
welcome. Duration of the sponsorship is three years. Scholarships comply 
with rates of the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Recipients will be responsible for writing a dissertation in one of the 
areas represented in the research program. Fellows are required to 
actively participate in the accompanying graduate studies program and 
thus to take residence in Bielefeld.

Applications (including a CV and a project proposal of eight to ten 
pages in which you explicitly link your research project to the research 
program) should be sent by Email to the coordinator of the research 
training group by *July 15, 2007*.
