“I am trying to find an ethnographer/ sociologist (or a small group)
with formal research credentials but a passion for participatory and
action-oriented research methodologies. I am exploring a possible
research partnership with a national association of people affected
by a stigmatizing disease in Korea - perhaps the strongest of its
kind - with much to show to people affected by similar problems in
other parts of the world. However, they still face many problems in
their own society and are looking at strengthening their local response.
We have the participants, we have a donor (ourselves), but we lack a
third party who can facilitate the Action Research process (including
funding proposal development) from a technical standpoint.
I look forward to hearing from anyone who may be interested –
preferably with a Curriculum Vitae mentioning what relevant skills
they could bring to the process (mention Korean language skills if
available), a reference person I could contact from a successful
involvement (could be ongoing; preferably connected to peer-reviewed
published material referenced in the CV), availability during the 3-5
years starting in January 2008, and an indication about what/how fees/
expenses might be charged to the project.”
