>College of the Atlantic has a need for two classes in ethnographic
>research methods for Fall 2007. It's only a one-term (ten-week)
>position, but fall in coastal Maine is beautiful, we expect to be able
>to provide housing, and our students are engaged, motivated, and pretty
>fun to teach. Each class would be no more than 15 students. The pay
>will probably be in the 6-8 thousand range. If you know of anyone who
>might be interested in such a position, please have them contact me.
>Also, please feel free to forward this email.
>
>Thanks much for any help that you can provide. For the right person --
>perhaps someone who has done some teaching but wants more experience,
>and who would enjoy a Maine autumn at a small progressive, liberal-arts-
>esque college -- this could be a good opportunity.

>College of the Atlantic is looking for a temporary faculty member
>to teach two classes in Ethnographic Research Methods for the 2007
>Fall Term. These classes should be designed to prepare students for
>independent field work in the U.S. and abroad. Teaching experience
>and a master's degree is required; a Ph.D. is preferred. COA is a
>small, interdisciplinary college on the coast of Maine. All
>undergraduate students receive the same degree, a B.A with a
>self-designed major in Human Ecology. Our average class size is 13.
>Almost 20% of our approximately 300 students are international.
>Around 15% of our students incorporate elements of ethnography in their
>senior theses. The College anticipates being able to provide in-town
>housing to the successful candidate. College of the Atlantic is
>committed to academic excellence, cultural diversity, and
>cross-cultural education. COA is an AA/EEO employer. Inquiries
>should be addressed, preferably via electronic mail, to David Feldman,
><dave at hornacek.coa.edu>, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, College
>of the Atlantic, 105 Eden Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609.
