Lecturer in International Relations
UCL wishes to appoint a Lecturer to join its
established IR team and contribute to research
and teaching in International Relations within
the Department of Political Science.
University College London (UCL) is a
multi-faculty college of the University of London
with a population of over 17,000 students, from
more than 130 different countries. It is ranked
in most league tables as one of the top five
universities not only in the UK but also in
Europe and among the top 25 world wide. The UCL
Department of Political Science has quickly
established itself as a leading international
centre for political research. Britains only
department to specialise in graduate teaching and
research, it offers a uniquely stimulating
environment for the study of all fields of
politics, including international relations,
political theory, comparative government and
public policy-making and administration.
The new lecturer will be expected to undertake
research of the highest international standards
within his or her own specialist field which will
contribute to the research standing and culture
of the School. Candidates must have a proven
track record of publications in leading journals
and a demonstrated ability to win grant-funding.
They will be expected to contribute to the core
courses of the popular MSc in International
Public Policy and to offer complementary optional
courses to the programme. Applications are welcomed from any area of IR.
This appointment is available from 1 September
2007 on the UCL salary scale Grade 7/8 at
Lecturer A/B in the range 28,849 to 38,772 plus 2,497 London Allowance.
The Department will be making two appointments
(Lecturer in International Relations and Lecturer
in European Politics). Both appointments are
available from 1 September 2007. One appointment
will be made on the Lecturer A (Grade 7 scale)
and one of the Lecturer A/B scale (Grade 7/8) in
the ranges £29,138 to £ 31,840 (Grade 7) and
£32,795 to £39,160 (Grade 8) plus £2,497 London Allowance.

Lecturer in European Politics and Public Policy
UCL wishes to appoint a Lecturer to lead the
Department of Political Sciences popular MSc in
European Public Policy programme and to develop
research and teaching in European politics and public policy.
Founded in 2005, the UCL Department of Political
Science has quickly established itself as a
leading international centre for political
research. Britains only department to specialise
in graduate teaching and research, it offers a
uniquely stimulating environment for the study of
all fields of politics, including international
relations, political theory, comparative
government and public policy-making and administration.
The new lecturer will be expected to undertake

The successful candidate will become Programme
Director for the MSc in European Public Policy,
and will be central to the School's teaching in
European politics and public policy.
