Though outsourcing is still taken with a pinch of salt in the US, the film
industry there is all set to trigger the next wave of outsourcing. This
time, some major players in the US movie production sector are looking at
Indian film production houses to get their post-production work done.
However, more than the pool of skilled workers, the costs are going to play
a major role in the case of movie process outsourcing (MPO) sources said.
"Definitely there is a huge pool of skilled manpower in the post-production
sector of the Indian film industry. However, the most attractive aspect of
the industry is the comparative price advantage,'' K V Rama Raju, a
representative of the Indo-American Film Festival Council based in Los
Angeles, said.
