The span of political advertising on TV has shrunk considerably for the
first phase of election, as policy-makers woke up late to address some key
issues. But, short is sweet, and effective too, media pundits believe.
Compare this with the scenario in a country like the US, where political ads
start beaming on television almost a year ahead of elections. "It's
far-fetched to compare India with the US," as an official of a leading
broadcasting company put it.
