The growth of crossover films seen in the Indian film industry is very
prominent. It can be largely attributed to the growing number of Indian
immigrants in various countries and the increasing demand for films, which
are closer to reality and stimulates the brain cells, according to crossover
film makers.
"The crossover films address the reality of this new generation of Indian
immigrants and their relatives and friends scattered around. A typical
Indian film perhaps does not address this reality and was more based on the
past. However, with the foray made by the crossover films, this whole new
reality is now on the canvas," says a film maker dabbling in multilingual films.
