STAR News Faces Fresh Round Of Questioning From Govt

Rupert Murdoch’s STAR News channel, even after getting Kolkata-based Ananda
Bazar Patrika (ABP) as its majority partner, continues to face government
scrutiny. Although STAR News had time till September 28 to comply with the
revised uplinking guidelines, the government has not given a go-ahead yet.
The information and broadcasting ministry, which is sitting on judgement
over the uplinking application submitted by Media Content & Communication
Services (MCCS), has sent a list of questions on the agreements undertaken
for the channel.
