A recent study done by NewsKnife revealed that as an automated news service
Google performed just above average. The study dubbed Google News Watch
showed that despite being good it still does not meet the standards of news
services that use human editors. Google News picked the top two stories
correctly 63% of the time, versus Yahoo News and CNN.com who came in
correctly 77% of the time. Google News Watch was selected by NewsKnife, who
evaluates prominent American and British news sites, to see how the
computer program fared against the human editors.
