  Just when all seemed lost for our traditionally dull, drab and desi 
All India Radio, it has pulled off a phoenix, rising right from the 
ashes as Dilli's numero uno FM station. Quite by default though. 
Everything looked to be going right for the three recently launched 
private FM channels - from not having to deal with bureaucratic type 
hassles, inside and outside the organisations, to gaining the financial 
and creative support of the country's most high profile media houses. 
The pundits had already predicted another case of a public sector 
company not being competition enough for privately owned ones.
