The Central Board of Film Certification detected 105 cases of
interpolations of the censored out portfolios in films at various places
in the country last year. These verification reports have been sent to
the concerned judicial magistrates for necessary action, an official
release here today said. A total of 54 indian films and eight foreign
feature films were refused certificates as they were found to have
violated one or more of the statutory guidelines issued by the central
government. Some of them were later certified in their revised versions.
The board issued 3376 certificates in 2002, of which 2481 were issued
for celluloid films and 895 for video films.
