When nine private FM stations were launched across three metros,
almost back to back, recently, it was certain that radio had made a
comeback. Bored with all the K soaps on TV, one hoped for saner
entertainment. But what one got was music, music and more music. And
most of the time, all of the same kind. Besides the local flavour, the
radio jockeys have turned out to be the only channel differentiators.
Even the names are similar in tenor, spirit and size Red, Mirchi, Go,
City....
