The AP reports that Microsoft guru Bill Gates sees the future of online news spreading to a variety devices for users to receive information anywhere at any time. At the annual convention of the Newspaper Association of America, Bill Gates spoke of a future where online newspapers would allow readers to receive information through video and even pay bills. "We see the online newspaper as one where it takes all the strengths (of current newspapers) ... and then adds in new capabilities,'' Gates said. He pointed out that many print newspapers that aren't developing their online versions as an individual identity are overlooking their future audience. At the convention, Microsoft employees exhibited new software that makes online articles as clear and easy to read as a print newspaper. The idea behind the new programs is to re-create the feeling of reading a newspaper while providing extra feature.
