Reacting sharply to the sudden spurt in vulgar, politically incorrect
and surrogate ads on television channels, information and broadcasting
minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said he was examining various options to
correct the situation. ``I have come across idespread concerns and
distress, this is a matter I have to consider,'' he said. In Britain, it
has been pointed out, the script for a commercial has to be submitted in
advance. However, there is no legal provision for pre-censorship for
commercials in this country.
