Striking a note of caution with regard to e-Governance applications across
the globe, particularly in the Asia-pacific region and India, Gartner India,
part of the global research and consultancy firm, Gartner Inc, says the
Indian e-Government initiatives have reached the peak of inflated
expectations. In effect puncturing the e-Government bubble, Gartner India
says that through 2003, insufficient increases in service levels and
difficulties in managing constituent relationships will push Indian
e-Government efforts towards the trough of disillusion. Further, the
initiatives are bound to lead to a mismatch among constituents' needs,
political vision and ability to execute these projects.
