[icernet] AP Government Launches e-Procurement Marketplace

  In tune with the ongoing ‘tender reforms’ initiated at the state 
level, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced the formal launch of 
“e-procurement marketplace” in the state for all kinds of government 
purchases, valued Rs 1 crore and above. After launching the online 
tender processing portal christened e-procurement.gov.in, the roads and 
buildings minister T Nageswara Rao said that this initiative will 
enhance the efficiency of all the government departments by offering 
faster and more transparent and automated procurement procedures. The 
online tendering process will save at least 5 to 10 per cent in the 
financial value of the tender, besides it will give a benefit of over 70 
per cent of time-saving.
