[icernet] Govt formulating scheme for insurance, pension to journalists

Government is formulating a scheme for providing insurance cover and 
pension to journalists who die in harness. The scheme would aim at 
providing Rs 10 lakh as group insurance cover, Information and 
Broadcasting Minister Sushma Swaraj today said inaugurating the fifth 
National Conference of Regional Newspapers. The Minister said 
discussions had already been held with the LIC Chairman on the matter 
and the Government would make a major contribution to the scheme.
