2002 was annus horribilis for Bollywood. Whether it was the media spotlight
on Hindi film industry's links with the underworld, or cumulative losses
suffered by filmmakers to the tune Rs 300 crore, or even controversies like
those generated by Ek Chhoti Si Love Story, the year gone by was one in
which India's answer to Hollywood made news for all the wrong reasons.
