[icernet] Maran's Cable Unit Ready To Roll Out CAS In Chennai

SCV, a MSO affiliated to the Kalanithi Maran-controlled Sun Network,
is fully geared-up for the implementation of conditional access system
(CAS) in Chennai. The leading multi-system operator (MSO) of Tamil Nadu
has already imported around 2.5 lakh digital set-top boxes and has been
testing its digital head-end for the past eight months. The ministry of
information and broadcasting, government of India has notified July 14,
2003 as the deadline for the implementation of CAS in the four metros -
Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.
