A sad admission, a decade after the opening up of the skies to satellite
TV channels, is that Indians still remain obsessed with domestic
politics, religion, caste, Hindi films and business, the new add-on.
This fact emerges clearly from the numerous talk shows on television.

Subsequent talk shows on Indian television have stuck to the staple fare
of politics, religion, caste, and so on; with the host or anchor
presiding over the proceedings as an arbiter of sorts, and an inquisitor
in one-on-one interviews.
