A press photographer Farooq Javed Khan, who works as a lensman for
Hindustan Times and a local daily Kashmir Images, was allegedly beaten
up by police evoking concern among the media over the second such
incident in Jammu and Kashmir in three months. In the first incident,
Indian Express' Srinagar Bureau Chief Muzammil Jaleel was allegedly
beaten up by police. "A police gypsy stopped me at Regal Chowk asking me
why I did not stop, though I did not hear anything," Khan said.
