Cartoonist Abu Abraham, who died here today, took his art at a new
intellectual high seldom failing to communicate his message across the
spectrum of readers.

"A good cartoon is like a poster. What it wants to say should be clear,"
Abu, whose witty and sharp poltical cartoons had made a tremendous
impact on readers over the decades, had once said.

Rated among the best in the art of cartooning, Abu, with a liberal
outlook and steadfast socialist ideals, added political meaning to all
his pieces.
