SARS has affected many communities. The crisis illustrates our global
interconnectedness, both positively and negatively, and we need to focus
our scholarly attention on the implications of this crisis. The
conference below is one avenue where this exploration can occur.
Educational narratives and reflections in the time of SARS
(An international online conference 19-31 May 2003)
You are cordially invited to participate in an international online
conference (19-31 May) chaired by Professor Carmel McNaught of The
Chinese University of Hong Kong, organized by Hong Kong Web Symposium
Consortium
(a non-profit association of school and university staff) and powered by a
Hong Kong e-learning system called SOUL. The SARS conference has been
designed as an open forum for teachers, students, parents, librarians,
policy makers and concerned people to reflect on recent events in Hong
Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, China and elsewhere in order to learn what we
can from the crisis that SARS has brought to our community in the area of
education. WCET members are particularly welcome. Please visit and
register for participation from 18 May 2003 at
